Terms of Use

The following terminology used in these Terms of Use are defined as described below.

  1. Exposition: the 2025 "KuruMobi Tech Expo - from Cars to Mobility"
  2. Organizer: the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan, Inc.
  3. Visitor: any person registered to participate in the 2025 "KuruMobi Tech Expo - from Cars to Mobility"
  4. Exhibitor: any company that has followed the specified procedures and is exhibiting at the 2025 "KuruMobi Tech Expo - from Cars to Mobility"
  5. Exposition office: Taiseisha, Ltd.
  6. Personal information: information including items registered by a visitor, questionnaire response histories, access histories, and the like
  7. Content: videos, images, text, figures, data, and all other information posted at the exposition by the organizer or an exhibitor

Use of the 2025 "KuruMobi Tech Expo - from Cars to Mobility" organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan implies consent to these Terms of Use and agreement to the details therein. These Terms of Use apply to all visitors using the exposition.

The organizer may revise, add to, or change these Terms of Use without notifying any third party in advance, including the exhibitors and visitors.

Article 1: Handling of Personal Information

Personal information about visitors obtained by the organizer shall be used for the following purposes.

  • To authenticate the identity of visitors logging into the exposition
  • To distribute communications or notifications pertaining to the exposition
  • To backup data necessary for the operation of the exposition
  • To respond to inquiries pertaining to the exposition
  • To collect and analyze visitor information for the purpose of improving or enabling the smooth operation of the exposition

When a visitor accesses an exhibitor page or presentation viewing page while viewing the exposition, personal information may be provided to the corresponding exhibitor or presenting company for providing information to each exhibitor, presenting company, or the like with the objective of providing an efficient service.

The organizer, exposition office, and exhibitors shall handle personal information about visitors in accordance with the respective privacy policies established by these parties.

Article 2: Copyright

The copyright, rights neighboring on copyright, moral right of an author, trademark rights, and so on of profile information registered by a visitor shall be held by the visitor who registered the information, excluding those copyrights and the like that are held by a third party.

Each visitor shall guarantee that information registered by that visitor does not harm the rights or interests of a third party.

Excluding visitor information, the copyright, trademark rights and other intellectual property rights, as well as all other related rights of all copyrighted material, including the content and systems of the exposition, shall be held by the organizer or the source providing the corresponding information. Visitors are not permitted to duplicate, reprint, or the like (including by data scraping) any items of said information without the prior consent of the organizer.

Article 3: Stoppages, Interruptions, and Restrictions Applied to the Exposition

The organizer may, for any of the following reasons, permanently stop or temporarily interrupt or restrict use of all or part of the exposition without notifying the visitors in advance.

  1. To inspect or to carry our periodic or urgent maintenance of computers or systems involved in providing the exposition services
  2. If an accident has occurred that stops said computers, a communication circuit, or the like
  3. If providing the exposition is rendered impossible by an act of providence, including fires, blackouts, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, flooding, or the like, or due to any other force majeure
  4. If providing the exposition is rendered impossible by man-made disruptions such as war, strike action, labor disputes, violence, civil commotion, cyber-attacks*, or the like
  5. If the exposition is required to be stopped, interrupted, or restricted by the organizer for any other operational or technical reason. *If an issue occurs in a system used to provide the exposition, and the cause of that issue is unclear at the time and subsequently remains unclear, this cause shall be regarded as a cyber-attack.

The organizer shall bear no responsibility for any damage or loss incurred by a visitor due to actions carried out by the organizer based on the previous Section.

Article 4: Prohibited Actions

  1. Actions that harm or that might harm the portrait rights, copyright, trademark rights, or any other intellectual property rights or interests of a third party, including the organizer, exhibitors, and other visitors
  2. Actions that impair use of the exposition by a third party, including the exhibitors and other visitors
  3. Actions that violate laws or regulations or actions that induce the violation of laws or regulations
  4. Actions involving the registration of false information
  5. Actions that are prejudicial to the good name or trust of a third party, including the organizer, exhibitors, and other visitors
  6. Actions that infringe the privacy of a third party, including the organizer, exhibitors, and other visitors
  7. Actions that slander or detract from the credibility of a third party, including the organizer, exhibitors, and other visitors
  8. Actions involving the collection or accumulation of personal information of a third party, including the organizer, exhibitors, and other visitors, or actions that attempt to collect or accumulate such information
  9. Actions that impair operations, inputs, or the like of a third party, including the organizer, exhibitors, and other visitors, or actions that attempt to do so
  10. Actions that damage or impede the functions of servers or networks of the exposition
  11. Actions involving the use, provision, or recommendation of detrimental computer programs (such as computer viruses) at the exposition
  12. Actions involving the improper acquisition or use of a visitor registration, or actions involving the transfer, resale, or diversion of registered information
  13. Actions involving the provision of an advantage to antisocial forces either directly or indirectly through the services of the exposition
  14. Actions involving the improper photographing or videoing, sound recording, downloading, processing, secondary use, reprinting, duplication, publication, broadcasting, public transmission, or the like, of any content posted at the exposition, or actions infringing any other copyright or the like
  15. Actions involving the use of the exposition for any purpose other than the intent of the organizer
  16. Actions deemed to be inappropriate by the organizer for any other reason, including actions deemed to be objectionable to social conventions, actions deemed to be counter to public policy, actions deemed to be harmful to the rights of other parties, and so on

Article 6: Notification, Disclosure, Correction, Addition, Deletion, Suspension of Use, Erasure, and Suspension of Third-Party Provision Regarding the Purpose of Use of Personal Information

    If you wish to request notification of the purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, or suspension of third-party provision regarding the content of personal information held by this exhibition, please contact us at the address below. After confirming that the request is from the individual concerned, we will respond promptly within a reasonable period in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act. Please note that in the case of encrypted data for storage purposes when notifying the purpose of use and disclosure, decryption work costs may be required.

Members of the Society of Automotive Engineers, those who participate in Society of Automotive Engineers activities, staff and those equivalent to them (hereinafter referred to as "the Society") recognize the importance of information that can identify specific individuals among living persons (hereinafter referred to as "personal information") and comply with the "Personal Information Protection Act" and other laws and regulations regarding personal information protection (hereinafter referred to as "laws and regulations"), guidelines established by the Personal Information Protection Commission, and the Society's rules, and strive to handle the acquisition, use, and management of such information appropriately as follows.

Personal Information Acquisition

The Society appropriately acquires personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the following purposes of use for the provision of services in line with the Society's business purposes. When acquiring personal information, the Society will clarify the purpose in advance and, in principle, provide (register) information based on the intention of the personal information provider (hereinafter referred to as "the individual").

  3. For the publication of the journal "Automotive Technology" and other publications
  4. To provide notifications regarding academic conferences and events hosted by the Society, including announcements of holding, changes, cancellations, and application notifications
  5. In relation to the above, to achieve business plans approved by the decision-making bodies of the Society of Automotive Engineers (general assembly, board of directors) and the decision-making bodies of each conference organization
  6. For other matters related to the above, for the purposes of use specified when acquiring personal information

Use of Personal Information

The Society will appropriately use acquired personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes.
When changing the purpose of use, except in cases stipulated by law, the Society will notify or announce the changed purpose of use to the individual.

Provision of Personal Information

Except in cases stipulated by law, the Society will not provide acquired personal information to third parties without the consent of the individual.

Management of Personal Information

The Society will take necessary and appropriate security management measures to prevent leakage, loss, destruction, and alteration of acquired personal information.

Disclosure and Correction of Personal Information

When the Society receives a request from an individual for disclosure of personal information about themselves, the Society will, in principle, disclose it without delay. When the Society decides not to disclose personal information or does not possess such personal information, the Society will notify the individual without delay.
When there is a request for correction of personal information, the Society will, in principle, conduct necessary investigations without delay, make corrections based on the results, and maintain the latest information. When personal information is corrected or when a decision is made not to make corrections, the Society will notify the individual without delay.

Handling on Websites

The use of websites established by the Society shall be conducted at the user's own responsibility. The Society assumes no responsibility for any damage caused by the use of various information obtained from this site and other websites linked to this site.

Security for Registered Information

This website uses encryption communication technology called SSL as necessary when users register personal information. In addition, registered personal information is managed on dedicated servers protected by a security system called Firewall, and we do our best to prevent unauthorized access from outside and information leakage.

External Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing Held by the Society

The Society may outsource all or part of the handling of personal data, such as delivery services and analysis of member data, within the scope necessary to achieve business purposes.
When outsourcing the processing of personal information held by the Society to external parties, the Society will conclude necessary contracts and provide appropriate management and supervision of the outsourcing partners.

Updates to Privacy Policy

The Society may update this privacy policy without notice in order to properly handle personal information in cases such as changes in laws and regulations. The latest privacy policy will always apply to personal information acquired by the Society. Any such updates will be posted on the Society's website and will take effect from the date of posting.

Supplementary Provisions

  1. These provisions shall come into effect from July 15, 2005.
  2. The addition of contact information shall come into effect from April 26, 2011 (1st Board of Directors Meeting, April 26, 2011).
  3. The revisions due to changes in (Personal Information Acquisition), (Use of Personal Information), (Provision of Personal Information), (Management of Personal Information), (Contact Information), and the addition of (Updates to Privacy Policy) shall come into effect from September 4, 2020 (2nd Management Planning Meeting Resolution, September 4, 2020).

Article 5: Disclaimers

The organizer makes absolutely no guarantee regarding the content, completeness, applicability, or timeliness of information provided at the exposition.

When using the exposition, visitors shall be personally responsible for any damage or loss incurred by issues pertaining to telecommunications terminals or any other equipment. The organizer shall bear no responsibility for the operation and environment of devices or the like used by the visitor.

The organizer shall bear no responsibility for damage, loss, or the like incurred by the visitor pertaining to use of the exposition, including changes to these Terms of Use, or revisions, temporary stoppages, cancellation, or the like of exposition services, and so on.
